**Please consult a health professional before attempting any juice cleanse or other form of alternative health. I discussed my juice cleanse with my Naturopath before hand and had her approve the Glow Juicery Juices.**
I wanted to do a juice cleanse to try and eliminate any toxins in my body to feel cleansed and less bloated. Last year I started to eliminate dairy from my diet, failed and started again this year. I hope that the juice cleanse will help my digestion and remove any traces of dairy.
The Cleanse
In February I did a 1 Day Beginner Juice Cleanse with Glow Juicery. Since this was my first time ever doing a juice cleanse I didn’t want to do more than one day. Owner, Lina helped me with the selection process and I picked up my juices the next week!
I got my juices on Friday (Feb. 23rd) and did the cleanse over the weekend. The plan was to drink all six juices in one day but, that’s not what happened. I don’t know if you’ve ever had green juices but, they aren’t the easiest to get down. It’s not like drinking water or orange juice. Because I was unable to drink all six in one day a broke the cleanse down even further and drank three juices on Saturday and three on Sunday!
Saturday:
I started off by drinking 500mL of water right when I woke up. Next, I drank Ener-g Glow (Spinach + Cucumber + Pear + Celery + Chlorophyll.) Then, I had the Citrus Glow juice (Orange + Lemon + Ginger + Coconut H20.) For lunch I had a salad (The recipe was provided in the cleanse instructions.) The last juice I had that day was Glow Boost (Spinach + Kale + Cucumber + Broccoli + Mint + Pomegranate.) Glow Boost was very hard to get down, I did not like it at all. It is the only juice I drank that I know I will never drink again. Because I only had three juices and a salad I was still hungry at the end of the day so my dinner was an avocado mashed! After every juice I had I try to drink at least one bottle of water to stay hydrated.
Sunday:
I started off by having a glass of water right when I woke up and then drank my juices. I drank After Glow (Spinach + Cucumber + Celery + Kale + Apple + Parsley), Sky Glow (Pear + Cucumber + Kale + Lemon + Mint) and Skinny Glow (Melon + Apple + Cucumber + Spinach + Celery.) One trick I discovered to make it easier to drink green juices is too not smell them before you drink. Also, it helps to drink big gulps instead of sipping them. The process is much faster that way! I had a salad for lunch and avocado mashed for dinner again and drank lots of water throughout the day.
The Juices (Ordered Favourite to Least Favourite – In my Opinion)
Citrus Glow | Orange + Lemon + Ginger + Coconut H20
After Glow | Spinach + Cucumber + Celery + Kale + Apple + Parsley
Sky Glow | Pear + Cucumber + Kale + Lemon + Mint
Skinny Glow | Melon + Apple + Cucumber + Spinach + Celery
Ener-g Glow | Spinach + Cucumber + Pear + Celery + Chlorophyll
Vitamin G | Cucumber + Carrot + Orange + Lemon + Ginger
Earthy Glow | Apple + Beet + Carrot + Cucumber + Ginger
Glow Boost | Spinach + Kale + Cucumber + Broccoli + Mint + Pomegranate
I choose not to drink Earthy Glow (beet based) and Vitamin G (carrot based) in my cleanse because I knew I wouldn’t be able to get through a whole bottle as I don’t like beets and carrots juiced. I will eat carrots raw through.
My Juice Cleanse Results
After the juice cleanse I felt lighter and less bloated but, was very excited to eat real food again. I would do a juice cleanse again. However, I will definitely be incorporating the juices in my daily life. Maybe for two out of seven days of the week I will drink a juice with a meal or it will be a meal. The juices are a great way to get your veggies in for the day and can feel lighter on your stomach.
We welcome you to share your thoughts about doing a juice cleanse in the comments below. We would love to start a conversation with you!

Cool! I’ll have to try out their juices when I’m next in Hamilton! (My hometown.)
Hey fellow Hamiltonian! Yes, the owner Lina is lovely and the juices are great!
I want to try a cleanse now! I’m still afraid of tasting one I don’t like, though!

Yay! Green juice isn’t that bad. You just have to find one that has some fruit in it to hid the greens!
