The Ordinary Skincare Line is at Deciem stores in Toronto and online. I discovered Deciem on Instagram and then started seeing The Ordinary all over Instagram from other bloggers. After I visited the Deciem store in the Distillery District I fell in love with the brand. Everything they do is unique from branding, store layout and the actual products. My favourite thing about The Ordinary Skincare Line is the price point. I spent $36 on my order including taxes and I received free Canadian shipping. I purchased five items and ended up liking four of them, so I think it well worth the money.
The Ordinary Skincare Line
This is the one product I was most excited for because I suffer with whiteheads and blackheads instead of red inflamed acne. They are quite difficult to extract from my skin unless I’m getting a facial and they are extracted properly. I used this product at night for two weeks at night and I noticed a difference. My skin broke out after a week which is fine because your skin usually purges when you’re using a chemical exfoliant, like BHA daily. The same thing would happen with AHA and Retinol. I also noticed my skin texture was smoother. I would buy this product again but, I still have a lot left (the bottle is quite big).
I purchased this mineral blemish formula because it said it helps with acne and I needed to add more to my cart to get free shipping. I used this in conjunction with the salicylic acid mentioned above. Because I used these products together at night it most likely they did the same thing as the salicylic acid. Overall, I don’t dislike this product but, I should try using it on it’s own.
I purchased this product because it can hydrate your skin without feeling heavy. It felt very lightweight and didn’t make my skin oilier than it already is. I haven’t noticed any other effects other than a soft skin texture.
I suffer from dark circles and puffy eyes in the mornings so, when I saw there was caffeine for your eyes I got really excited. The product feels like a serum and you don’t need to apply a lot. I don’t notice an instant de-puffing but, it does brighten the under-eye area just a little bit. It also feel hydrating because of the serum texture.
This is the product I did not like. I’m not sure if I used it correctly but, I don’t like it. I added this to the cart to get free shipping. It is an antioxidant formula made without water so, it feels like a pure oil. I have oily skin and have used oil cleansing and oils on my skin before they didn’t feel like this product. I was watching an Instagram story by a local blogger and she said she likes it and puts it in with other products. So, I may have used it wrong but, I know I definitely don’t like the oily texture.
