Inside Hamilton’s international village holds a hidden gem, Nuttybutter Café. The shop not only has delicious hot beverages, and macarons (gluten free and dairy free) but as well an atmosphere that invites you into a little taste of Paris.
Stepping into Nuttybutter as first timers, Jo and Ishi, the café owners graciously welcomed us, letting us take photos of the café, all while discussing a little about themselves and their menu. They provided excellent recommendations; we tried the corretto and cappuccino both equally delicious! Also, couldn’t help but notice the unique tea flavours; pacific coast mint, sencha, jasmine pearls, early grey crème, and coconut cacao. Jo mentioned each tea is carefully steeped at different water temperature to optimize flavour in each blend.
This special attention to detail is also recognized in the décor. After spending some years in Paris Jo and Ishi were able to bring over details of Parisian style into the café; simple white surrounds the walls and floor, with carved wooden artifacts peeking through. Providing elegance and character to the space.
Their time in Paris also perfected their macron specialty. Nuttybutter macarons are gluten, dairy free, made with nut flours, the usual dairy cream middle is replaced with a nut-oil based creamy goodness! There are about 48 flavours, rotating to 12 flavours they feature daily. We tried the creamy cashew and peanut butter honey, again, both equally delicious!
Nuttybutter provides a sophisticated addition to Hamilton cafes, it will have you feeling Zen and amazed with the delicious treats and beverages!
