Loyale is a Responsible Fashion Brand based in San Francisco with production in North Carolina. Every garment at @loyalestudio is a timeless, season-less design made ethically in North Carolina with sustainably sourced fabrics.
The Loyale style N.01 I’m wearing is a perfect layering piece for any season! I love pairing it with cardigans!
In addition to this ballet style tee they have a Style N.02 which is a tunic style t-shirt. Both of their styles come in solid black and white/grey stripe.
Founder, Jenny Hwa re-structured her brand to truly emulate ethical fashion. She doesn’t produce a new collection every season, she has perfected two everyday styles that are available all year round. There is something to be said about timeless basics, that you will wear everyday and pair with a lot of what is already hanging in your closet.
Here is my review of the Loyale style N.01 – Ballet Tee:
Bust: 36 inches, 36B
The Size I received was Medium. I’m usually a medium in everything top wise but, depending on who made the item and what it is made out of I can be a Small or Large as well. The top fits my bust and waist perfectly but, is a little big on my shoulders (I have smaller shoulders and this is the first item to fit those for me). It could almost be an off-the-shoulder style is I wanted it to be. Because it has a really wide”U” shaped neckline, it looks so pretty on. There’s something so chic and elegant about your collarbone and shoulders being accentuated.
The N.01 Ballet Tee retails for $62 USD (keep that in mind fellow Canadians – probably will be about $85 CDN). I’ve been in the ethical fashion space for over 2 years now and $62 is relatively fair for a properly made t-shirt. You might be thinking it’s a little costly for a plain black shirt. I like to think as ethical fashion as an investment because you are buying high quality items and will buy less overall, saying yourself (and the planet) more in the long run.
The N.01 Ballet Tee is made out of 100% cotton milled in Japan. I love wearing cotton! It is truly my favourite fabric to wear. Once you’re used to the feel and wear of sustainable fabrics (organic cotton, bamboo, tencel etc) you will hate wearing polyester or other synthetic fabrics. I’ve had my shirt for 9 months and wear it at least a few times a month and nothing has happened to it. The quality is fantastic. I wash it every few wears and hang to dry.
*Just a note that I was a Brand Ambassador for Loyale Fall 2018 and received the Ballet Tee as part of my Ambassador responsibilities. I posted 4 photos to my Instagram and participated in a giveaway.*
